Happy New Year!!

We had a great month of December. Tommy and I left out the Wednesday before Christmas and stopped at Tyler for a brief visit with his cousin, Cliff and family. We had a great visit with them and Tommy's Uncle Lloyd. Thursday we drove the short distance to Longview and spend some time with his Uncle Bill and Aunt Jerry. They are all wonderful people. I really enjoyed getting to know them.

We then went to spend a few days with Amanda, Leland and Clayton in Texarkana. Amanda had to work Friday, so Tommy, Leland, Clayton and I drove to DeQueen Arkansas to visit John Hendrix. He owns the company that Tommy works for. He has a very nice place just outside of town. He showed us around and we got to see the memorial chapel that he built for his wife's father who was killed in WWII. We had a great visit except for a little incident with a deer (see Amanda's blog).

Saturday it was on to Little Elm and Scott, Allison and Carter's for Christmas Eve and Christmas. It was great to get to be with the kids and grandkids for the holidays. Brian was supposed to fly in on Christmas day, but didn't get to make it. I missed him terribly. It was my first Christmas away from my baby. :'( Monday we shopped the day after Christmas sales and had a good time.

Tuesday we headed out to Spur to see my folks. My Aunt Ruth and Uncle Bill came down from Coweta Oklahoma. Tommy went on home. We played games and visited and had lots of fun. Ruth and I went to Crosbyton on Thursday to visit with my Granny and take her a Christmas gift and visit with her awhile.

Friday Mom Ruth and I headed to Midland. Home again!!! I felt like I'd been gone for a month. (Almost had!) We shopped the after Christmas sales and spent way too much on things we don't need, but it was a blast. They left this morning. Things are getting back to normal now. I'm typing on this silly machine and Tommy is watching football (I don't see how it does it and snore at the same time! lol)

This had been a great year and a sad year. We've added a couple of family members and lost a few also. Brian's best friend, Stevie has been missed terribly since we lost him in May to a tragic automobile accident. We've really felt his presence this holiday season.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and will have a great 2006.
