Brian

Well, as most of you know Brian has been pretty sick. He called me last Saturday and said he thought he had a kidney infection and wanted to go to the urgent care. We started driving around looking for an open one about 2:30 or so Saturday afternoon. We couldn't find one place opened. So much for "Urgent" care. I offered to take him to the emergency room, but by this time he was tired of driving around and just wanted to go home. I took him back to our house and got him some cranberry and apple juices and gave him some over the counter pain medication. By that evening he was feeling some better and wanted to go back to his house. I talked to him Sunday and he said he was feeling some better. Monday I tried to call him a couple of times but he didn't answer. Finally he called me about 4:00 Monday afternoon. He said he would go to the doctor tomorrow. Tuesday morning about 11:00 he called and said he was sicker. He was running lots of fever and throwing up. I took him in to the doctor's office. We had to sit in the waiting room for a while but finally got in to see the doctor. The doctor said his infection was pretty bad and he wanted to put him in the hospital. He has been in the hospital since then. They finally got the results on the type of infection. It was ecolli (spelling). He has been running fever every evening. Knock on wood but his fever broke last night around 9:00 and it's now after 4:00 in the afternoon and he has been fever free since then!!!! The doctor came in a couple of hours ago and said he's going to draw blood again and if his white blood count is normal he may get to go home in about 24 hours. When he got to the hospital it was at 32,000. We were told normal is around 7 to 10,000. The last count we got was yesterday and it was 14,000. He is definitely feeling better. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts, prayers and gift baskets.

Green Thumb???

I've never had much luck with houseplants, but Mom and I bought these amarillys and narcissus bulbs about 3 weeks ago and they have really gone crazy....

I'll bet everyone will be happy when I finish scanning old photos!!
